Johnny H is all about helping teens make a smooth transition from school to the real world with programs that cover everything from work readiness to life skills and even travel. Today’s Turnout and What Went Down

We had an awesome turnout today with lots of new and familiar faces, even though a nearby accident made it tough for some people to join us. It was fantastic to connect with such a wide array of service providers—including support workers, allied health professionals, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, nursing services, complex homecare services, SIL providers, 24/7 high care professionals, in-house supports, and even a model agency. The room was buzzing with energy as everyone shared their quick pitches. It’s exactly the kind of vibrant scene we love to see!

Fun Format and Looking Ahead

We shook things up with a new format that let everyone step up and share their story at our Networking Event at Johnny H. I’m really hopeful about the connections that were sparked today. I chatted with a few of you and snagged more photos than usual (sorry if I missed anyone!).

Exciting Details About Our Upcoming Expo

Get ready for our not-to-be-missed expo on May 24th! We’re gearing up to make this event a highlight for everyone in the disability services community around Coomera. This expo is particularly focused on showcasing local providers or those who have services available in or close to the Coomera area on the Gold Coast. With only 20 spots available, they’re filling up fast, so make sure you secure your place by April 30th. Early registration means your logo will be featured prominently in our advertising materials, giving you extra visibility. Reach out here for more details or to claim your spot.

What to Expect at the Expo:

  • Free Sausage Sizzle: Come for the connections, stay for the sausage sizzle! We’re hosting a free lunch that promises to be as satisfying as the networking opportunities.
  • Expert Talks: We’ve set aside time for three expert-led sessions that promise to deliver valuable insights and information, not sales pitches. These 15-20 minute talks will be packed with practical advice and fresh perspectives relevant to our community. One spot is already taken, but two remain—this is a great opportunity to position yourself as a thought leader.
  • Interactive Community Art Project: We’re creating a big, bold sign for the ‘Coomera Disability Expo’ and we need your creative flair! Participants, school groups, and anyone who enjoys a bit of art are invited to help design a letter or more of the expo’s name. It’s a fun way to get involved and make your mark on the event.
  • Fantastic Door Prizes: As always, we’ll have exciting door prizes to give away, ensuring that a few lucky attendees will go home with something extra special.

This expo isn’t just a chance to network; it’s an opportunity to grow your presence in the community and learn from others in the field. Whether you’re coming to learn, share, or connect, there’s something here for everyone, especially for those based in or serving the Coomera area.

Cheers to Our Lucky Winners!

  • Big congrats to Jodie from Growing Daily, who snagged some free banner advertising in our Facebook networking group. Growing Daily is all about providing top-notch In-home Support including daily living assistance and fun community outings, keeping their service focused on a smaller offering of services to ensure they are consistently providing a high standard of care to our participants and their families.
  • Hats off to Dominic from Bluewing, who won two free sessions at FrieNDIS Inclusive Fitness and Social Group. Bluewing does it all, from complex care to allied health and plan management.
